Welcome to Teach Assist! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our Microsoft Word Add-in and associated services, which are designed to assist educators in Australian schools with lesson preparation, curriculum alignment, and risk assessment generation. By using our services, you agree to these terms.
2. Description of Service
Teach Assist is a tool that integrates with Microsoft Word to provide AI-powered assistance for creating educational materials. The service is hosted on Google Cloud Platform and utilizes Google's Gemini AI for content generation.
3. User Accounts
User accounts are typically created and managed by a school or organization's designated administrator. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
4. User Conduct and Content
You agree not to misuse the service. You are solely responsible for the content you create, upload, and share through Teach Assist. You retain all ownership rights to your content; however, by using our service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you and your organization.
5. Intellectual Property
The Teach Assist service and its original content (excluding content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Teach Assist and its licensors. The service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both Australia and foreign countries.
6. Third-Party Services
Our service relies on third-party services, including:
- Google Cloud Platform: For hosting our application and storing data.
- Google Gemini AI: For generating content such as risk assessments. While we send activity details to the AI, we do not send personal identifiable information like names or email addresses.
We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services, and we recommend you review their terms and privacy policies.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive to provide a high-quality service, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. The content generated by the AI is for informational purposes and should be reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness by a qualified professional.
In no event shall Teach Assist, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms and Conditions.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
